Factory stamped control arms are notorious for flexing under heavy torque loads, ruining steering alignment, and causing aggressive wheel hop when launching or towing. Generic aftermarket arms might be stiffer than stock, but they don’t give you hand-crafted precision or custom styling.

When you’re trying to push a full-size diesel truck into the bottom 4s in the eighth-mile, horsepower is only half the equation. You can have all the power in the world, but if your chassis setup isn’t dialed, you’re just spinning your wheels.
We built David Petrick’s truck to be the world’s fastest 4WD diesel truck, and the real magic happens underneath. We track everything with advanced shock data sensors to monitor travel, analyze G-meters, and look at driveshaft speed after every single pass.
Adjusting the 4-link suspension bar angles changes exactly how the truck transfers weight and plants the tires into the ground. Our goal is to shave that 60-foot time down from a 1.15 to a blistering 1.11 or 1.12 at a race weight under 3,600 lbs.

We built this truck with one clear objective: to be the world’s fastest four-wheel drive diesel truck. Custom-built for David Petrick, this project has been an absolute journey—and according to David, it’s easily the best $2,500 he’s ever spent!
Just a week ago, we strapped this monster down for a hub dyno session, and it laid down a mind-boggling 3,710 horsepower. Honestly, the session went about as smoothly and perfectly as anyone could have possibly imagined. Now, we’re back in the shop, meticulously ironing out all the fine details and small adjustments before we unleash it.
The next stop? The racetrack, where we are tuning the chassis and powertrain to eclipse 175 miles per hour down the lane.

Powder Coat vs. Cerakote: Choose Wisely 🎨🔥
When you invest in a custom twin-turbo setup, you want the looks under the hood to match the performance on the track. But choosing the right finish isn’t just about picking a color that pops—it’s about matching the coating to the insane temperatures your engine bay actually sees.
Anything we custom fabricate in the shop goes straight over to our coating area to get squared away for its specific job. If you don’t split your strategy between the hot and cold sides of the system, your show-stopping finish will turn into a discolored, peeling mess on the first hard pull.
Breaking Down the Bay
The Cold Side (Powder Coat): Your intakes and compressor covers don’t face extreme exhaust temperatures, making them perfect for high-gloss, vibrant powder coats. You can go completely wild here—like this metallic “Malibu Barbie” pink—or opt for a clean clear powder coat over raw stainless steel if you want to keep that unique, vibrant look and show off the precision fabrication welds. Powder coat is typically rated to handle up to about 400°F.
The Hot Side (Cerakote): Your exhaust housings and manifolds are a completely different beast. They handle intense, compounding heat that would cook standard powder coat instantly. For these parts, we use a specialized Cerakote finish. It gives the hot side a clean, sleek matte black appearance and is structurally rated to withstand up to 2,000°F.
The Contrast: To tie the whole engine bay together, we hit all the clamps with a slick gloss black powder coat. It creates a perfect visual contrast between the bright cold-side piping and the understated, stealthy hot-side hardware.
Whether you want your engine bay to scream for attention or keep it low-key and raw, doing it right means engineering for style and survival.
