This past weekend, I had the honor of being inducted with the class of 2026 Darryl Starbird National Rod & Custom Hall of Fame located in the fabulous and absolutely amazing American Museum of Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was a pleasure and an honor to spend time at breakfast and dinner with Darryl Starbird. He was an influence on me even before I knew he was. As a young boy, I built the Lil’ Coffin Model as well as all the bubble top cars that the model kits provided me. I remember as a young boy begging my dad to take me to Amarillo to see the Darryl Starbird Car show at the Amarillo Civic Center. He relented and took me. I was blown away as a young boy. I had never seen anything like that. I have had an amazing journey on my career in metal shaping! I have met so many amazing people and have even been lucky enough to become friends with my heroes. I was honored to stand with this group of amazing people that were inducted this year. Each one of them spectacular in what they do. Also, one of the highlights was I was inducted by none other than Troy Trepanier. He could not be there but he had Tim Strange read his speech. It was funny because I didn’t know if I was going to have to defend myself or go along with what he had to say. Thank you, TeeBag for the kind words! I want to thank everyone who has ever supported me, bought one of my roof inserts, or follow any of my videos. I also want to thank one of my oldest friends, Keith McNutt for driving all the way from Texas to be at the ceremony. And to my fiancé Kathy, thank you for always being by my side and being my biggest supporter.
