WELL, LOOK WHO’S BACK!

After a few days of traveling across Texas, attending business meetings, sightseeing, and showing off his karaoke skills, Towin’ Joe has officially returned to Budget.

Unfortunately, he seems to think he needs a vacation to recover from his vacation. 🙄

I walked into the shop this morning and found him in a hammock.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOP.

Apparently, supervising Ty and Russell is exhausting work.

So while Joe catches up on his beauty sleep, the guys are doing what they do best — taking care of our customers and getting vehicles back on the road.

After attending my meetings in Houston’s Energy Corridor today, I have to say Towin’ Joe certainly dressed the part. 😂

Black suit, sunglasses, the whole nine yards. I’m pretty sure people thought I had a camel for a bodyguard. 🕶️🐪

He was still a little bummed about not getting to go swimming while we were in Galveston, but I told him we had a long drive back to Oklahoma.

And since I’m tired, I figured it was about time he earned his keep, so I let him help with the driving. 😂

Don’t worry, Ty and Russell! Towin’ Joe will be back at the shop tomorrow, probably with a few stories to tell and absolutely no intention of getting any work done. 🫣

Texas was fun, but it’s time to get back to business!

Well, surprisingly enough, Towin’ Joe patiently waited for me to return from my meetings today.

I know he’s missing Russell and Ty. I’m pretty sure he called them a few times while I was gone just to make sure they weren’t having too much fun without him.

After my meetings, I met up with some clients for Happy Hour, and naturally, Joe decided he needed to tag along.

One ridiculously oversized drink later, Joe decided it was time to show off his karaoke skills.

I’m not sure what was worse… the singing or the fact that he thought he was REALLY good.

I’m beginning to understand why the guys at Budget were so willing to let him come to Texas with me.

And we still have another day to go!

Well, since my meetings aren’t until this afternoon, I decided to take Towin’ Joe out to see a little of Galveston.

He was all excited about the beach until he discovered it’s a red flag day.

Apparently, nobody checked the weather before he packed for this all-expenses-paid vacation. 🙄😂

I told him maybe he could hit the hotel pool when I got back.

Then came the real disappointment.

Turns out, refineries don’t allow camels. Go figure.

So while I’m out earning a living, Joe will be back at the hotel pouting on the bed with a copy of Auto Repair for Dummies.

I told him since he’s got so many opinions about what Ty and Russell do back at the shop, he might as well learn something.

Pretty sure the guys back in Ponca City are hoping this trip gets extended.

And we’ve still got the rest of the day to go. 🫣🐪

Towin’ Joe’s Texas Adventures continue…

Well, it looks like Towin’ Joe has taken his talents on the road.

I have a few business meetings in Galveston and Houston this week for my daytime job, so naturally, Joe decided he needed to tag along.

I figured giving Ty, Russell, Andy, and the rest of the guys at Budget a little break from BOTH of us probably wasn’t a bad idea.

Now, whether Texas is ready for Joe and me is an entirely different question. 🫣

We barely crossed the Texas state line before Joe was ready for his first photo opportunity. And of course, we couldn’t pass a Buc-ee’s without stopping. Apparently, this camel has a travel itinerary of his own. 😅

We’ve still got Galveston, the beach, and Houston ahead of us. Lord only knows what he’ll get into before we make it back to Oklahoma.

THOSE FLASHING LIGHTS AIN’T CLUB LIGHTS!

And we can assure you, nobody’s out there having a good time.

Last night found us on the side of the road doing what we do, helping somebody get their vehicle taken care of.

Meanwhile, a few folks were passing by close enough we could’ve probably checked their tire pressure while they were at it. 👀

Listen, we know you’ve got places to be. So do we. Preferably home, with all our original body parts.

Those flashing lights aren’t an invitation to come closer, and we’re definitely not parked alongside the highway for the nightlife. 😂

Oklahoma has a Move Over law for a reason.

If you can safely move over, do it. If you can’t, slow down and proceed with caution.

That goes for tow operators, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and road crews.

We don’t need a wave, a honk, or a thumbs-up. We’d be perfectly happy with an extra lane between us and your side mirror.

All kidding aside, we’re pretty good at getting stranded motorists and their vehicles out of some less-than-ideal situations.

But we’d rather not become somebody else’s emergency while we’re taking care of yours.

So do us a favor. Slow down, move over, and give everybody working along our roads a little room.

We’ve all got somebody waiting for us at home. ❤️
