🔥 370 horsepower. 429 cubic inches. And apparently, a marketing department that forgot to tell anyone. 😂

Meet the 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler CJ — proof that Mercury knew how to build a serious muscle car, even if buyers were too busy chasing Chevelles to notice.

Just 1,631 sold in 1970. This Competition Orange example just brought $66,000 at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas.

Turns out being the forgotten kid in the muscle-car family isn't necessarily a bad thing. 😎

🏁 SCM contributor John Boyle digs into the numbers. A retired Air Force officer, award-winning journalist, and longtime collector and restorer, Boyle has been writing for SCM since 2013.

🚗😂 To 4C or not to 4C? That is the question… and Keith Martin’s daughter has some STRONG opinions!

Keith is considering trading his beloved Lotus Elise for an Alfa Romeo 4C. But there’s a catch: His daughter Alex has threatened to change her name to “WHERESMYLOTUS Martin” if he sells the Elise AGAIN. (Yes, Keith has already sold and bought back this exact car once before! 🤦‍♂️)

Could a hand-operated “Duck clutch” save the day, the Lotus, and the family name? 🦆

💬 What would YOU do?

🏎️ $445,000 for a 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena?! Yes, you read that right. 💰

What makes this Ferrari worth nearly half a million dollars? It’s not just the prancing horse on the hood.

🔥 One of just 25 Ferrari 360 Modenas believed to have been built with a factory removable sunroof.

🏁 A coveted 6-speed manual transmission.

🔥 Rare factory racing seats and a 395-horsepower V8.

And despite having 27,407 miles on the odometer, this Ferrari sold for an astonishing $445,000 at RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction in August 2026!

With SCM's valuation for the model sitting at $85,000–$130,000, this sale raises a fascinating question: When does rarity outweigh market value?

✍️ SCM Ferrari expert Steve Ahlgrim breaks down this remarkable sale in the latest issue of Sports Car Market. A longtime Ferrari specialist and concours judge, Steve previously served as general manager and vice president of FAF Motorcars, an authorized Ferrari dealership. He's been sharing his Ferrari expertise with SCM readers since 2002.
