We always love giving back to our community. This is a great way for us to show our appreciation for the firefighters that help us. Training is very important in every job but I find it especially important in this line of work. They want to be able to help a person in need the fastest way possible. The training helps figure out what is best to do in a lot of different scenarios. Thank you Highland Volunteer Fire Department - TN for being there when we need you.

General Laborer / Yard Worker:
Sorts, grades, and separates scrap materials (ferrous/non-ferrous) using hand tools and machinery. Cleans and maintains the yard.

Heavy Equipment Operator (Crane/Loader/Forklift):
Operates machinery to move, load, and unload heavy scrap materials, load trailers, and feed shredders/balers.

Scale Operator / Yard Clerk:
Weighs incoming and outgoing materials, identifies metal types, calculates payments for customers, and enters data into the computer system.(peddler scales)

CDL Driver (Roll-off/Dump/Flatbed):
Picks up and delivers containers of scrap metal from customer job sites and transports them to the recycling facility.

Maintenance Technician:
Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery, such as shears, balers, and forklifts.
