😂🔧 CUSTOMER: “I THINK I KNOW WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT!”

Also the customer: proceeds to take half the engine apart in the driveway. 💀🤣

We love a good DIY project, but sometimes that YouTube tutorial leaves out a FEW steps! 😂

What started as a check engine light turned into an engine teardown, parts scattered everywhere, and a whole lot of questions that probably weren't in the comment section.

🔧 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON? IT MIGHT BE A SENSOR! 🚗💡

Modern vehicles rely on a whole network of sensors to keep everything running the way it should. When one starts acting up, it can cause anything from poor fuel economy to rough running, warning lights, or even a no-start situation.

Here are 8 important sensors that help keep your vehicle running right! 👇

🔹 MAF Sensor: Measures incoming airflow to help determine how much fuel the engine needs.

🔹 MAP Sensor: Measures intake manifold pressure to help the engine manage its air-fuel mixture.

🔹 TPS (Throttle Position Sensor): Tells the computer how far the throttle is opening.

🔹 ECT (Coolant Temperature Sensor): Helps the computer monitor engine temperature and adjust engine operation.

🔹 CKP (Crankshaft Position Sensor): Helps control ignition timing and fuel injection. When it fails, your engine may crank without starting.

🔹 CMP (Camshaft Position Sensor): Helps synchronize engine timing and fuel injection.

🔹 O2 (Oxygen) Sensor: Helps regulate the air-fuel mixture and monitor emissions.

🔹 ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Monitors wheel speed to help the ABS system prevent wheel lockup during braking.

⚠️ Here's the thing: A check engine light doesn't automatically mean you need a new sensor! Wiring problems, damaged connectors, vacuum leaks, and other mechanical issues can trigger similar symptoms.

🔑 Turn the key… CLICK. CLICK. CLICK. And absolutely NOTHING. 😩🔧

We've all been there. You're already running late, you jump in your vehicle, turn the key, and instead of that engine firing up, all you get is a clicking noise!

So what's going on?

🔋 Weak battery: Your battery may not have enough power to turn the starter.

⚡ Bad connections: Corroded battery terminals or loose cables can prevent enough current from reaching the starter.

🔧 Failing starter: If your battery and connections check out, the starter itself could be on its way out.

⚙️ Flywheel or flexplate damage: Worn or damaged teeth can prevent the starter from properly engaging the engine.

Here's the important part: A clicking sound doesn't automatically mean you need a new starter! Proper testing can save you from replacing parts you didn't need in the first place. 💰

💥 WELL… THAT’S ONE WAY TO MAKE A TRANSMISSION HAVE A BAD DAY! 😂🔧

This transmission came in with a busted tailshaft housing, and that’s not exactly the kind of surprise anybody wants underneath their vehicle!

The tailshaft housing helps support and protect the rear of the transmission where the driveshaft connects. When it breaks, you can end up with transmission fluid leaks, driveshaft alignment issues, vibrations, and potentially more damage if you keep driving it.

If you notice transmission fluid leaking, clunking underneath your vehicle, or sudden vibrations, don’t just cross your fingers and keep rolling. You could turn an already expensive repair into an even bigger one!
