KRX 1000 STARTER REBUILD UPGRADE KIT

All Years KRX
This is not a complete starter.
You will use this kit to rebuild an existing OEM starter.
As long as you have a good internal armature (the inside piece that has the shaft with the gear at the end) and your OEM end cap, you can rebuild your starter for a fraction of the cost of a new OEM unit.
If your housing magnets failed and the armature is a little beat up, it is still more than likely good.
For reference, a new 21163-0786 starter from Kawasaki retails for $998, and you will receive the same starter that can fail again.
You get:
* Main magnet body
* Aftermarket body with better glue, which makes the magnets less likely to dislodge from the housing
* Nose cap with new bearing and seal
* Brush assembly
* Body bolts
* O-rings to seal the body to the caps
* New 10mm head mounting hardware so you don't need two different size sockets during installation, and the larger head helps with bolt installation
Starters are very simple. Literally three bolts to take apart and put back together with everything we provide.
You can go in from the passenger-side muffler area to remove the starter, but it is a complete pain in the butt!
It is recommended to remove the bed and airbox assembly and go in beneath the throttle body.
A stubby 1/4" ratchet works great.
