Auto Detailer/Car Wash Job Description
Position Description

*$11-14hr. to start depending on experience*
Mon.-Sat. Work schedule

An Auto Detailer cleans most parts of a vehicle including the cracks and crevices not cleaned by standard car wash systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Auto Detailer
• Must be able to use various types of cleaning equipment and solutions
• Details vehicle according to the client’s specific instructions
• Ability to use a buffer for scratch removal
• Carpet extracting and shampooing
• Vacuums floors and seats
• Cleans out ashtrays and cup holders
• Conditions vinyl and leather
• Cleans all trash, debris, and dirt from the interior of the vehicle
• Cleans all dirt, grease and tar from the exterior of the vehicle
• Steam cleans the engine
• Waxes and buffs vehicles after washing
• Able to use air compressors and special equipment to dry the inside and outside surfaces
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to manage time and multi-task
• Must be a team player and able to work individually and efficiently
• Must be willing to learn and accept constructive feedback
• Ability to follow complex instructions a plus
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
• Time is spent inside and outside of vehicles
• Time is spent working outside in both very hot and very cold weather
• Must be able to work with strong detergents and chemicals
Education and Experience
• Driver’s License required
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• At least 5 years previous auto detailing/car wash experience encouraged to apply
