Fetzner Collision Inc Family-owned and proudly serving the Rochester community since 1948, Fetzner Collision Inc. specializes in expert auto body repair and restoration.

Highβˆ’quality repairs and guaranteed customer satisfaction have kept people coming back! The Fetzner family has been in the automotive business for as long as there have been cars. In the late 1800's John Fetzner owned and operated a blacksmith shop on West Ridge Road in Rochester, NY. The shop worked on buggies and carriages before the automobile was invented in the early 1900’s. With the arrival of the automobile, John Fetzner's son, Ray, saw the need for a repair shop to service these vehicles. Ray Fetzner expanded the business to include a repair shop that sold and serviced Hudsons. Ray's son, John, worked for his father in the automobile business and began doing body work as well. In 1964, John Fetzner moved the auto body portion of the shop to its present location at 2485 Dewey Ave. John Fetzner has since retired and the collision shop was then managed by Jim Fetzner. That’s five generations of Fetzners keeping the business alive! Jim Fetzner has just recently retired and Brian Fetzner has moved into managing as the 6th generation to continue the family business success. Jim, along with six brothers, a sister, his wife, and experienced technicians, worked together to provide customers the best service possible using stateβˆ’ofβˆ’theβˆ’art technology.

Before the paint ever goes on, there's a lot of work happening underneath it.

Panels have to fit correctly. Surfaces need to be properly prepared. Repairs need to be completed and inspected. Only then does the vehicle move into the refinishing stage.

A beautiful finish is the final layer of a much bigger process.

The lowest estimate isn't automatically the best estimate.

Two repair estimates can look very different because one may include safety inspections, OEM parts, structural measurements, or repair procedures that another estimate doesn't.

If something about your estimate doesn't look right, getting a second opinion can help you understand what you're actually paying for.

After a collision, "the wheels look straight" isn't exactly a measurement.

Fetzner uses computerized wheel alignment equipment to measure all four wheels against a common centerline and restore alignment to exact factory specifications.

Because proper alignment affects more than how your vehicle feels on the road, it can also affect tire wear, handling, and overall performance.

The bumper cover is only the part you can see.

Behind it can be reinforcements, brackets, sensors, wiring, and other components that may be affected by an impact.

That's why a bumper that looks like it only needs a little paint can sometimes require a much more detailed inspection. At Fetzner Collision, we don't stop at the obvious damage.

October means cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and unfortunately, more deer on the move.

Pay extra attention around dawn and dusk, especially on rural roads and areas where you know deer are common. If one crosses the road, slow down and watch for another close behind.

And if an unexpected encounter leaves your vehicle damaged, make sure the repair goes beyond what you can see.

A collision repair shouldn't be a guessing game.

Blueprinting gives our team the opportunity to thoroughly examine the vehicle, uncover damage that may not be visible from the outside, identify the necessary parts, and establish the repair sequence before the work gets underway.

It creates a roadmap for the repair, and that roadmap matters when safety and quality are the priority.

An estimate tells you what can be seen. A proper repair plan goes much deeper.

At Fetzner Collision, blueprinting allows the estimator and technician to identify hidden damage, determine what parts and procedures are needed, and map out the repair before the work begins.

The goal isn't simply to get your vehicle into the shop. It's to understand exactly what it needs to leave the shop properly repaired.

Doing it right starts with knowing what "right" looks like.

Vehicles today are packed with aluminum, ultra-high-strength steel, cameras, sensors, radar systems, and computers.

That's great for safety, but it also means repairs require specialized training, equipment, and procedures.

Collision repair has changed dramatically, and so has the expertise required to do it right.
