We have decided to open things back up to performance and custom work. There's nothing we can't build/fix....but there are some things we don't want to do. We are a custom and performance shop, specializing in custom or restoration builds. We are not an oil change shop...but sometimes can make exceptions 😉. We live for the challenging jobs and projects. And sometimes the ones nobody else can seem to get working. Bikes, cars, boats, sleds...it's all doable😁
we build or fix anything performance and custom fabrication. forced induction. anything you can think of.

The Bitter Truth About "Good Enough" Fabrication: Why Precision Saves Lives 🛠️💀

In the automotive and powersports world, the phrase "good enough" is a disease. When it comes to daily commuters, a sloppy detail might just look ugly. But when you are dealing with high-horsepower builds, custom track motorcycles, extreme off-road rigs, or hard-ridden side-by-sides (SXS), "good enough" can get someone killed.

Lately, we’ve been seeing a terrifying amount of dangerous work rolling into the shop across every platform we service. Let’s be honest: there are a lot of smooth talkers and master storytellers in this industry right now. They know exactly how to hype up a build, talk a massive game on social media, and sell you a cheap price with a fast turnaround. But a silver tongue doesn't mean they actually have the engineering knowledge, the experience, or the tools to do what they claim. Physics doesn't care about a sales pitch. Whether it is a full-size diesel truck, a sportbike, a 4x4, or a turbo UTV, shortcuts carry deadly consequences.

If you are getting custom chassis, performance, or engine work done—here are four fatal flaws you need to look out for:

❌ Structural Pipe Instead of DOM Tubing (Cars, Trucks, & UTVs)
A roll cage or exo-skeleton is a structural safety cell, not a cosmetic accessory. We’ve seen shops using cheap, seamed structural pipe for cages. Under a violent rollover on the trail or the track, seamed pipe can shear and split open right at the seam, turning your safety cage into a trap. True motorsport and off-road builds demand DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) or Chromoly tubing. If your builder can't hand you the material spec sheet, don't trust your life to it.

❌ "Bird-Poop" Welds (Chassis, Frames, & Bike Swings)
A weld should look like a tight stack of dimes, showing proper heat, deep pe*******on, and true fusion into the base metal. We are seeing cold welds with zero pe*******on and severe undercutting on everything from custom motorcycle frames to suspension brackets. A dangerous weld might look fine under a fresh layer of powder coat, but the moment it takes a heavy G-force hit, a hard landing, or the stress of high horsepower, it will snap like glass.

❌ Guillotine Driveline Angles & Botched Slip Yokes
Improper geometry and botched driveline angles aren’t just uncomfortable—they are catastrophic. Whether it's an extended motorcycle swingarm, a lifted truck, or a long-travel SXS, binding angles subject your drivetrain to violent, hidden vibrations. Furthermore, on extreme-angle rock crawlers and lifted rigs, calculating proper slip yoke length is mandatory. If a slip yoke is too long, it will bottom out under full suspension compression and violently smash right through your transfer case. If it's too short, it will literally fall completely out of the vehicle during extreme wheel articulation, leaving you stranded, destroying parts, and causing a massive safety hazard on the trail. When a driveshaft fails or snaps at high speed, it violently whips, completely shattering expensive transfer cases, cracking transmission cases, and throwing shrapnel through your floorboards.

❌ Rat’s Nest Wiring
Poor grounding, uninsulated pass-throughs, and a lack of proper fusing turn a high-performance machine into a rolling tinderbox. Side-by-sides packed with audio and lights, custom bikes with hidden harnesses, and high-HP cars are all vulnerable. Electrical fires don't care how much horsepower your engine makes. True wiring requires clean routing, weather-sealed connectors, and meticulous circuit layout.

The Bottom Line:

We work on all high-performance machines because we master the fundamentals of metal, electricity, and physics. We don’t compete on being the cheapest or the fastest. We compete on being the safest and the most precise.

Storytellers sell illusions; real builders sell results. When you are leaning hard into a corner on two wheels, pinned at full throttle in a turbo SXS, or launching a high-horsepower build down the track, you shouldn't have to wonder if your builder cut corners to save a buck.

Take pride in your machine. Demand perfection from your builder. Your life can literally depend on it.

We’re nearly finished with the move into our new location! We still have a few larger pieces of equipment to bring over from another location, but we’re getting very close to being fully settled in.

While we are not officially reopened just yet, as we’re waiting for a few business structure changes to be finalized, we are working hard behind the scenes to make progress on the substantial backlog of existing work.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding throughout this transition. Some of you have been waiting much longer than we would have liked, and we truly appreciate your continued patience and support while we work to get caught up and move forward.

Thank you again from all of us at R and R Performance.

**𝗥 & 𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 – 𝗪𝗬𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚**

R & R Performance is looking for an experienced, **𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟-𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖/𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗡** to join our shop.

We have been in business for **𝟮𝟬+ 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦** and have recently moved into a **𝗡𝗘𝗪, 𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡.** We’re continuing to grow and would like to find the right person to grow with us.

We do much more than typical automotive repair. We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, custom work, and figuring out how to make things work when there isn’t a step-by-step manual telling you how.

🚗 **𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗢𝗡:**

• Cars and trucks
• Classic, custom, and performance vehicles
• Domestic and imported vehicles
• ATVs and UTVs
• Motorcycles
• Snowmobiles
• Watercraft / personal watercraft
• Small engines
• Restorations and complete custom builds
• Engine swaps and performance projects
• One-off and unusual mechanical projects

🛠️ **𝗪𝗘’𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗟𝗟-𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦, 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚:**

• General automotive diagnostics and repair
• Maintenance and service work
• Engines and drivetrain
• Brakes, suspension, and steering
• Electrical diagnosis and wiring
• Custom and modified vehicles
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving
• The ability to understand **𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗬𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗦 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞**, not just replace parts

⚙️ **𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗦:**

• Welding and fabrication
• Custom wiring and electronics
• Engine rebuilding
• Manual and automatic transmission rebuilding
• Performance upgrades
• Engine swaps
• Machining
• CAD/CAM and CNC experience
• Advanced diagnostics and vehicle electronics

🏁 **𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦𝗡’𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣**

Our new facility gives us considerably more room to take on larger projects and continue expanding our capabilities.

The shop is equipped with **𝗖𝗡𝗖 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦, 𝗖𝗡𝗖 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗔 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧, 𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗔𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧, 𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦, 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗬 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦, 𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗚𝗡𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗭𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗢𝗙𝗧𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗡 𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗩𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗗𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗡 𝗩𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗦.**

We aren’t limited to the vehicles or equipment commonly seen at a typical local repair shop. We have the tools, software, and experience to diagnose and work with vehicles and systems from manufacturers around the world.

A lot of what we build or repair doesn’t come with instructions.

Many of our jobs require **𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚, 𝗙𝗔𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦, 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗡 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗙 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗦.** You may need to figure out how something should be designed, fabricated, mounted, modified, wired, programmed, or made to function when there isn’t an off-the-shelf solution.

One day you might be doing routine brakes or maintenance. The next could involve diagnosing a difficult electrical problem, repairing an ATV, rebuilding an engine, fabricating a one-off component, working on a snowmobile or motorcycle, troubleshooting an imported vehicle, or helping build something completely from scratch.

We don’t expect one person to already know absolutely everything.

What we **𝗔𝗥𝗘** looking for is someone with:

✅ A strong mechanical background
✅ Common sense
✅ Attention to detail
✅ Good diagnostic and problem-solving ability
✅ Pride in their work
✅ A willingness to learn
✅ The ability to work on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment
✅ An interest in custom fabrication and challenging projects

If you’re the kind of technician who enjoys asking **“𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗪𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞?”** instead of saying **“𝗜 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗘,”** you may be exactly who we’re looking for.

💵 **𝗣𝗔𝗬 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘, 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦.**

If you enjoy custom work, fabrication, diagnostics, performance vehicles, powersports, and getting to work on something different from one day to the next, we’d like to hear from you.

📩 **𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗬 𝗢𝗥 𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡:**

Email: **[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])**

Or contact us through **Facebook Messenger.**

Please send us a little information about your experience, what you’re strongest at, and the types of automotive, mechanical, diagnostic, fabrication, or powersports work you’ve done.

**𝗥 & 𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘**
**𝟮𝟬+ 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘, 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘, 𝗙𝗔𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 & 𝗖𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗠 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞**

🔧 **𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧 — 𝗪𝗘’𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣.**

🚨 SHOP NOTICE — JULY UPDATE 🚨

July is going to be a little chaotic around here.

We’ll still be working and doing our best to keep projects moving, but we’re also in the process of moving the shop to a bigger, more secure location.

This opportunity came at the perfect time and is going to allow us to better serve our customers, improve turnaround times, and give us the room we need to keep growing without being packed into our current smaller space.

During the move, calls and messages may be a little hit or miss, so please bear with us while we get everything moved, set up, and back to full speed.

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and support — especially those of you who have already been extremely patient with us.

We’re making this move so we can do better work, take on more, and keep building R&R Performance into what it’s meant to be.

Thank you all.

⚠️ NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS ⚠️

At R & R Performance, we take pride in custom fabrication and one-off builds — but custom work is not the same as a fixed-price repair.

Custom fabrication is billed on a time-and-materials basis. Estimates are provided for planning purposes only and are not guaranteed final quotes.

Final cost can change due to:

• Customer-requested changes
• Added repairs
• Fitment issues
• Design changes
• Rework
• Parts delays
• Additional fabrication
• Unforeseen problems
• Work outside the original discussed scope

Additional labor, parts, materials, supplies, and outside services will be billed accordingly.

Work may be paused at any time for customer approval, progress payment, or payment of the current balance.

We appreciate our customers understanding that quality custom work takes time, skill, materials, and clear communication.

05/27/2026

I was always taught that self-promotion wasn’t really a good thing, so I’ve honestly always had a hard time posting about ourselves or recommending our own business when people ask for suggestions for work.

Proverbs 27:2 says:
“Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.”

The challenge for us is that most of our longtime customers are either:

• Not local
• Not on Facebook

Because of that, most of our business over the years has come through word of mouth, with only a few people finding us through Google or social media. We’ve also had many newer customers tell us we should advertise more and post more of what we do.

Truthfully, we haven’t advertised much because we’ve usually stayed booked up and behind on larger projects. But with our current situation and future plans for growth, we need to start bringing in more quick repair and maintenance work while also meeting new customers and expanding.

So moving forward, we’ll be posting and advertising our services a bit more on social media.

In the past, we’ve even told regular customers to only recommend us to close friends and family. But we also see a lot of posts from people looking for services and not realizing what’s actually available locally.

So if you know someone looking for work that falls within what we do, please feel free to recommend us.

And honestly… the range of services we offer is pretty broad.

We truly appreciate all the support, referrals, and word of mouth over the years. It means more than you know.
