This incredible custom GT-style build by Oak City Performance stopped by WashNWerk Coatings & Detailing for the finishing touch. After a professional machine polish, we refined the paint to maximize gloss and depth, then protected it to help keep this one-of-a-kind build looking show-ready while making future maintenance easier.

One year later… and it still looks incredible.

This is the side of PPF that most people never see.

This bright blue Toyota Tacoma came to us with aging Paint Protection Film that had remained on the vehicle well beyond its intended service life.

After hours of carefully removing brittle film, stubborn adhesive, and performing multiple stages of paint correction, we restored the hood as much as physically possible.

Unfortunately, some of the damage had already become permanent.

At this point, the only way to make the hood perfect again would be repainting it.

This isn’t meant to scare anyone away from PPF.

It’s meant to educate.

PPF is not a lifetime product. It requires maintenance, inspections, and eventual removal and replacement. Unfortunately, those long-term responsibilities aren’t always explained when the film is first installed.

At WashNWerk, we believe customers deserve the complete picture before investing thousands into protecting their vehicle.

That’s why every protection package we install comes with clear maintenance recommendations, realistic expectations, and honest advice about long-term ownership.

But not all detailing environments are safe for your vehicle.

Extreme heat and cold can create real, hidden risks when detailing is done outdoors without proper controls. From etched paint and damaged trim in high heat to frozen seals, cracked plastics, and glass stress in cold weather, the environment matters more than most people realize.
