Today started off beautiful, but it ended kind of ugly. I consider myself fortunate that while I only got one run. This popped off when I got back to grid while the engine was still relatively cool from just one run. I didn’t oil down the track or catch on fire.

The and I got called out by Nick Relampagos for an autocross rematch this weekend. Sadly Nick didn’t want to ruin his SEMA prep detail job so he isn’t going to make it. But I still have some testing to do so we are headed back to Crows Landing anyways. Is it still a if Nick isn’t there to give me grief over it? 🤔 🤣

Did the Hell’s Revenge trail yesterday. The handled it great. Doing Hell’s Gate was definitely the highlight! Overall, a scenic and fun time wheeling. And we still had time to check out Arches NP afterwards.

Made it to Moab! First trail, Fins and Things, is in the books. Did all of the optional harder lines and the XJ handled it like a champ. Hells Revenge tomorrow.

Heading to Moab for the first time. Going to do a mix of off-road and hiking with the fam. Planning to do Fins & Things and Hells Revenge. Plus the back off-road way into Arches. Let me know if there is any other must see things. Have 3 full days and 2 half days there. Short, I know, but it’s what I can do.

Fastest lap from Sunday’s shakedown with the cheater Mustang 😂. We got the win in CAMT and learned some things. 1) The rear diff isn’t happy and 2) oil pressure is dropping with g forces. Overall a successful first outing with some follow up work to be done. I’m hoping I calculated total system capacity wrong and oil pressure will fixed with higher oil level.

Went rock crawling for the first time and ran the entire Rubicon Trail in one day. Took a friend and I 12 hours from one end to the other. My little XJ on 33s and a 3.5” lift did way better than I expected. With lockers this thing can climb!

Road racing and autocross are all about speed while rock crawling might be the slowest “Motorsport” there is. Still plenty of adrenaline inducing moments for a noob rock crawling driver like me.

I needed a lot of spotting in the beginning but began to figure things out as the day went on. Shoutout to for the spotting! I bypassed Soup Bowl, a Little Sluice and Big sluice. The rest we took a lot of harder optional lines like Heckle Hill.

This trail is relentless. Kept joking with my friend that we live there now.
