Now that the ROAR Nationals and Point Break are wrapped up, we don’t see any reason to let our foot off the gas!

SDRC Point Break 2026 is in the books!

A huge THANK YOU to all the racers who braved the heat, humidity, and a long day at the track to make Point Break 2026 an incredible success.

The weather was hot, but the racing on the track was way hotter! The new layout combined with a screaming fast surface delivered non-stop, high-stakes racing action. While a few drivers got an up-close and personal view of the Pit-of-Despair, the 5 heads-up rounds format gave so many more the chance to feel the absolute thrill of victory!

This event wouldn't have been possible without our extended SDRC crew working endlessly to have the facility and track locked in and ready.

An extra special shoutout and immense gratitude to Chris Raymond and Scot MacParland. Saying "extra effort" doesn't even come close to describing the massive amount of work they both put into building and prepping this track for all of us to enjoy.

Next time you see Chris or Scot at the track, make sure to give them a big thank you!

Heads Up SDRC Monday practice crowd!

High-Flying Action is Coming to the Track!

On Monday, July 20th, our regular Off-Road practice will be cut short to hand the arena over to the drone flyers.

Off-Road Practice will end early and the Drone Racing Program will start at 5:00 PM.

If you’ve never seen FPV drone racing in person, you are in for a massive treat. Come down to SDRC Raceway to check out:

QUICK TRACK UPDATE & SCHEDULE CHANGE

Hey everyone, we have a quick update regarding the new layout build!

To make sure this track is absolutely perfect, SDRC Raceway will remain CLOSED tomorrow, Monday.

The crew absolutely crushed it today. We managed to get most of the packing and all of the piping finished! However, we still have a bunch of packing left to do before we can apply the surface sealer tomorrow afternoon and evening.

No action before there’s traction! We don't let our racers cut corners, and we won't either. We aren't opening the doors until this surface is 100% dialed.

SDRC’s New Layout is Almost Ready

Yesterday was an incredibly productive day at the track! After experimenting with a track surface sealer last week, which gave us an amazingly consistent feel for practice and race days alike, we jumped straight into track build mode.

The last three tracks have featured a fast and flowing vibe. But this time? Well, Chris Raymond has delivered a layout that can only be described as fast with serious airtime!

However, we do need a little community muscle to cross the finish line.

Here is the schedule for the next several days:

SUNDAY (today): Piping & Packing starts at 11:00 AM. We need your help! With 6 to 8 motivated friends, the piping only takes about 2 to 3 hours. Come lend a hand!

MONDAY: Track open for driving from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, followed immediately by the sealing ritual.

TUESDAY: Open Practice

WEDNESDAY: Club Racing!

THURSDAY & FRIDAY: Open Practice.

SATURDAY: Doors open at 8:00 AM for the Point Break Battle Royal!

It’s not just the drones that fly at SDRC.

Bring your A-game. Let’s do this!

Something is going on at SDRC Raceway!

First, check the video…

Some people say it’s just Chase Raymond’s amazing whip-skills at play. Others are convinced there’s some sort of magnetic force field buried under the dirt. Or maybe…

Over the last couple of days we have completely transformed our track’s grip! We’ve officially launched into testing a sealed race track surface.

As you all know, we are building a brand-new track layout starting immediately after racing tomorrow night and running through the weekend. But we had to test this sealer on the current track first to grab some baseline data. Safe to say, the results are so massive that we will be sealing the new layout during the packing process so it starts its life off right!

Here is what we are seeing so far:
> Amazingly Consistent Grip – Lock it in around the entire layout.

> A 10-Foot-Wide Racing Line – Seriously! The racing line is massive, meaning passing opportunities and wheel-to-wheel racing just got a huge upgrade.

> Unbelievable Dust Reduction – We only blew off the track between rounds during Wednesday’s program, and honestly, that was mostly just out of habit.

> Drastically Less Watering – We've reduced watering to after the racing is completely done. No more mid-program watering breaks and no more dealing with that inconsistent, changing track feel.

> All-Day, Everyday Grip – You know that perfect, locked-in grip we normally only get during the middle rounds on race nights? Imagine that feel all day, every day.

You must come race with us tomorrow (Friday) night and feel the new grip for yourself before this layout is history!
