Well, this is about as bad as I've seen someone kill a 5.3! Seeing it cracked through that thick of a sleeve is something else. All this damage from a guide having worn out and a dropped valve. What's the worst way you've ever seen an engine taken out?

A pair of our iron 6.0Ls going to their new homes! One will be powering a father/son 50s pickup project, and the other is going in an off-road Jeep. One of the best parts of the job, aside from building awesome engines, is getting to be a part of someone's project and seeing the vehicle it goes in. We love it even more when our clients swing by driving their Flag powered vehicle!

Had a set of heads in to rebuild - I've never had guides splinter and explode like this when removing them. I'm not sure what off brand powdered metal guides these were but I hope to never see this again.

This LS2 came to us after suffering a failure within only a few hundred miles from being rebuilt. We discovered a bad align hone had caused this main cap to lose all register. When running, the main cap had moved, the crank had started to hit it and it killed the engine. Be very careful with your main caps and make sure you don't have damaged registers!

This is the process we follow to fully recondition a set of LS7 cylinder heads for our customer’s 2006 C6 Z06. They received full guide replacement with CHE bronze guides, a 5 angle valve job, surfacing, and all new valves with a spring kit setup matched to the camshaft. Now they are ready to go back on the car and make power!

After installing new cam bearings, we use the Bonefied Tools broach kit to swedge them to size for perfect cam fitment!
