Sand Springs locals, please hear me out. The BMX family can vouch for us—this place is special to our BMX community. We’ve worked very hard to put faces to the name in our community the past few years, but we know we’re not well known in town and I’m guessing that’s why we get hit like this.
Sand Springs BMX is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT VOLUNTEER RUN.
100%, and probably not like any non-profit you know of.
We have visitors from outside of this community, outside of this state, and outside of this COUNTRY all year long. ALL YEAR. January 1-Dec 31. It’s crazy, right? An outdoor sport all year long in Oklahoma? We sweep off rain and snow and chip away at ice for days to get ready for races.
We have Pros here every. single. week. Working with the kids in THIS COMMUNITY. We have Olympic athletes stay with us locally to train themselves and THIS COMMUNITY. We have a TWO TIME Olympian on our board that just spent a whole week training kids and teens in THIS COMMUNITY.
Our sweat is always on the track. Our blood is out there working the track—all ages—our kids, our parents, and ourselves. OUR kids for YOUR kids. For YOUR schools. For THIS community.
This happens all the time; damage to property and we don’t press charges. We just keep working hard and if we catch intruders we invite them back when we’re open. We’re tired. Please help us get the word out. Please tell your kids. Riders at all levels and all over this nation choose to call Sand Springs BMX their HOME TRACK. You and yours could too. Help us keep it special.
