Something I've seen a few times on some of the high mileage Focus ST is the wastegate flapper pin wears through the turbine housing of the stock turbocharger. This can cause a rattling, P0299 underboost code, and/or sluggish spool/acceleration. Unfortunately this can't be repaired, so a replacement turbo is necessary. Along with the turbo, we also changed the oil/filter, coolant, turbo feed line, turbo drain tube, and all gaskets + hardware to make the install seamless for David's ST here as it closes in on 200,00 miles.

I also found a leaking thermostat and P0456/P1450/P0300 codes stored in the PCM during my lookover of the car, so a new thermostat and purge valve were installed as well.

I posted up this Turbo Technics S280 I had on the shelf last and Tyler jumped on it immediately!

I started his install yesterday with a compression test and new spark plugs, then removed the OEM turbo assembly and exhaust manifold. I found one broken exhaust manifold stud so we decided to remove the existing ones and upgrade to Titanium studs from SP Tuning LLC for better clamping. I also decided to have Zack Trafton Fabrication throw the OEM exhaust manifold in the belt sander to straighten it out as these (and aftermarket ones) are very prone to warpage, then straightened the cylinder head surface by hand. The installation went smooth so now it's time for a test drive, initial logs, and check-over before he can pick it up.

This one will go on the Freektune dyno with Justin Brasil shortly and we expect it to make around 280whp on 93 octane.

Another big turbo kit installed and tuned!

Steve recently purchased this Performance Blue Focus ST from his son and when he originally reached out to me, had a goal of making 300whp. Instead of stretching the stock turbo to the limit on ethanol mix, we decided to set Steve up with the usual bolt-ons and a turbo upgrade to really transform a BONE STOCK car into something he can really enjoy. There were a few other repairs needed to be made on the car, but ultimately we were able to handle all the hardware in 1 visit thanks to Steve's patience.

We ended up using a Garrett - Advancing Motion Gen2 GTX2867R (.64 A/R) turbo kit from ATP Turbo along with a Custom Performance Engineering Exhale kit & intercooler, Turbosmart BOV, COBB Tuning 3" intake system, Depo Racing 3" catted downpipe, and NGK 6510 spark plugs.

He visited Justin Brasil last week and was pleased with the dyno results: 331whp/351wtq conservatively on 93 octane while still giving him 30 horsepower more than his goal.

If you are still running around with a K03 on your Focus ST, it's time to step your game up!

STOCK MOTOR Focus RS makes 450whp!

Mike's stealth grey Focus RS here may be his only car for now, but he isn't afraid to let her eat!

We stretched this stock engine as far as we felt comfortable with on this dyno with a simple and effective setup (NX2/XDI/E30). This net us with 80whp gains over a stock turbo car even with full bolt-ons and pump gas. It simultaneously reduced the stress on the connecting rods by pushing the powerband farther into the rev range.

Red line - 407whp/411wtq on 93 octane
Green line - 443whp/446wtq on E30 mix

If any of my Fiesta ST clients are ready to turn their car up a level, I've got a BRAND NEW Turbo Technics S280 kit with Turbosmart internal wastegate actuator looking for a home for under MSRP. 👀

It is strongly recommended to use an upgraded intake, intercooler, and downpipe with this kit. This turbo is capable of 275-300whp on 93 octane with just the mods mentioned above (100whp more than stock or tuned cars) represented by the green line. Add XDI HPFP/injectors and E40 ethanol mix and see upwards of 350whp/355wtq (red line). 💪

We capped this turbo out on my personal car after adding upgraded MAP sensors and using E50 fuel at 370whp/370wtq. 55,000 miles and 4 years later, she is still ripping and driven almost every day! 🚀

This is the best bang-for-buck modification for any Fiesta ST in my opinion. Hit me up if you are serious about joining the club. It's here until it's gone! 😎

John's 2016 Ta**us SHO (365hp/350tq) was throwing some camshaft/timing correlation codes and with a referral from another shop, he reached out! We looked over the car together and decided it was worth the investment to fix the car in it's current condition (with 120,000 miles).

These cars have a chain-driven waterpump that hides behind the timing cover that are known to destroy the engine as the coolant leaks into the oil pan. We did a full timing job (chains, guides, tensioners, phasers, valve covers, VCT solenoids, seals, and an oil change) along with a new waterpump, serpentine belt, and serpentine tensioner. All OEM Ford parts were used of course.

Everything went smooth on the test drive and with no leaks found afterward, next up is a set of upgraded spark plugs (so he can tune if desired) and a PTU fluid drain/fill.
