Starts right up, idles well and clean throttle response - riding dynamics are great. Signals and instruments all work as they should and the bike is fundamentally sound.
The Suzuki RG400 Gamma (and the RG500 big-brother) is one of the defining Japanese sport bikes of the 1980s—lightweight, sharp-handling, and powered by an exotic square-four 2-stroke engine derived directly from Suzuki’s Grand Prix racing program.
The RG400 motor is a compact twin-crank “square four” layout with rotary disc valves and Mikuni flat-slide carburetors. Iconic sound and smell / very tractable and really a lot of fun to ride.
This example shows just 6,781 kilometers and presents in overall solid, honest condition with attractive original-style bodywork and graphics. The white/red/black livery is characteristic of Suzuki endurance-racing and period RG Gamma styling from the mid-1980s.
Recently out of long-term storage – needs some cleanup and fresh fluids / tires prior to regular riding. While overall riding dynamics are good, tires are due for replacement and front brake lever is soft – brakes feel linear, like fresh fluid is in order. Rear brakes are softer yet and rear-brake caliper is lightly dragging so fluid and possibly rebuild the caliper.
