I hit a milestone in the avionics upgrade project yesterday. Firewall forward is complete. Front Baggage compartment floor is installed. All tests good.

Everything aft of the passenger area is done. Autopilot servos installed, wired and tested. All new sensors are installed.

95% of the instrument panel wiring harness is complete, and all the switches are installed. The cowling and wheel pants are repainted and waiting to be installed.

The final push is installing the panel and connecting the harnesses, then Jeff can program the system and we should be back in the air before spring.

This short video is of the front compartment, an area that has been a ragged hole with dangling wires for the last two months.

Kelly the Welder is mounting the turbo. It's been on a back burner while he expanded his shop- Kelly is designing the exhaust manifolds right now. He may decide to machine them out of stainless billet. Can't wait to see the mock up 3-D printed manifolds!

So I'm trying to send someone a friend request. I can find his profile on Facebook and he can find mine but I have no button to push to send a friend request and neither does he. Anybody have any idea what's going on?  we are able to send messages to each other. Any ideas?

Patching some unused holes in the firewall on the 8. I couldn't make do with a plain old patch so I tried engine turning for my first time. I used an oak dowel and Permatex valve lapping compound for an abrasive. I'm tempted to do the whole firewall but not anytime soon....

We camp in the lot on the west side of the Coke bottling plant. It's managed every year by the local Lions club. They won this years best of trophy for doing an outstanding job dealing with the mud and the drunks and the keeping the peace like they do every year. They finally got the recognition they deserve!
