DAY 1 β€” TEAR DOWN πŸ”©

First things first, time to get this R apart. We started by removing the factory intake, intercooler hoses, ignition coils, spark plugs, front subframe, downpipe, and stock turbo.

With the factory hardware out of the way, we’re ready to start putting together the upgraded setup.

Stay tuned as we work through this build. More parts, more wrenching, and another MQB ready to turn up the boost.

Returning customer brought in his 2022 VW GTI for a few goodies to round out the setup.

πŸ”Š Audio Upgrade: Added a Cerwin-Vega 12” shallow, self-powered spare tire subwoofer to complement the Focal speaker upgrade we installed a few months back. Wired up with knukonceptz OFC amp wiring for a clean, quality install, complete with remote bass control.

πŸ“Ή Security Upgrade: Installed front and rear dash cams for added peace of mind on the road.

πŸ’‘ Euro OEM+ Upgrade: Finished things off with a set of BMP MK8 Euro taillights and the corresponding wiring harness kit. Nothing like getting rid of that US-spec look and adding some Euro flavor to the rear end!

A few well-chosen upgrades go a long way toward making an MK8 your own. Keeping it clean, functional, and just a little more Euro.

Jackson Warren brought his Ford F-150 to JED Autoworx for a low-frequency upgrade. We removed the factory SONY subwoofer and integrated:

Concrete Audio 1500.1DPROV2 Mono Amplifier with Remote Bass Level Control
Wāvtech LINKDQ Line Output Converter
Customer-supplied Downfiring Under-Seat Enclosure
with a pair of Skar 12” Subwoofers

The new setup delivers significantly more low-frequency extension, output, and impact, while keeping the installation clean and properly integrated with the factory audio system. Deep, clean bass with plenty of BOOM. πŸ”ŠπŸ”Š

Another factory system upgraded and bringing the bass back where it belongs.

MK7.5 GTI gets some cooling system maintenance + Stage 3 wheel-hop control.

Replaced the Heater Support Pump & Coolant Control Valve to restore proper coolant flow through the cooling system and heater core.

Then added 034Motorsport Billet Dogbone Mount & Inserts to increase drivetrain stability and help control wheel hop under hard Stage 3 launches.
