The 07 CRF450 is back together. The cylinder head has been rebuilt. Machine work performed by Fletcher’s Cycle in Memphis. Set the new valve clearance and timed the valve train. Laced up a new rear rim. Installed new chain and sprockets. The cam chain tensioner has also failed so a new manual tensioner is on the way.
* Kibblewhite Black Diamond Valves
* Kibblewhite Valve Spring kit
* Pro-X stem seals
* Primary Drive chain and sprocket kit
* Tusk Impact 19” rear rim and spokes
On these early CRF450’s, the intake valves are junk. They require frequent shimming once they begin to wear. Some of the best money you can spend is on the Kibblewhite valves. Parts and Machine shop labor will probably run you in the neighborhood of $800 IF you do the job yourself. If not, I can help!
Also, go ahead and throw the stock cam chain tensioner away. I used a Tokyo Mods tensioner on my old bike but I doubt it is necessary to spend that much on one. I’ve replaced TWO OEM tensioners on 2 different 2007 CRF’s in the last few months.
If you need help or have questions about your 2002-2008 CRF, don’t be afraid to reach out! I know a good deal about them.
