So this 89 Evo came in for a top end build. We immediately noticed all the studs were installed upside down as they were from the factory until 1994 when HD put out a notification saying they had changed this practice. Almost all had been over torqued and damaged the threads and were all seated at different levels from being over torqued. Reinstalling the new studs correctly with the rib facing down and it only took 14 ft lbs to tear the stressed out threads out of the cases. Please remember your Clinber manuals and Shop manuals 1994 and earlier are incorrect! Yes you can Google it.
