🔧 CHEVY OWNERS... LET’S TALK CAMS & LIFTERS.
If you own a Chevrolet Silverado with an AFM/DFM-equipped V8, this is a problem worth knowing about.
GM’s AFM/DFM systems use special hydraulic lifters that allow cylinders to be deactivated under certain driving conditions. When one of those lifters sticks, collapses, or fails internally, the valvetrain can no longer operate.

And unfortunately, sometimes the lifter isn’t the only casualty.
👉 : Failed/damaged lifter
👉 : Camshaft showing visible wear/damage
Once a failing lifter starts damaging the cam lobe, you’re no longer talking about simply swapping out one bad lifter. Continued operation can lead to additional camshaft damage and metal contamination inside the engine.

🚨 PAY ATTENTION TO:
🔹 Ticking or tapping from the engine
🔹 Rough idle
🔹 Misfire
🔹 Check Engine Light
🔹 Loss of power or hesitation
Those symptoms don’t automatically mean you have a failed lifter, but they absolutely deserve proper diagnosis before a small problem becomes a much bigger repair.
Don’t just turn the radio up. 😂
Bring it in and let’s find out what’s actually going on.
