This 2026 Lexus NX 350 parks right next to the county garbage cans, and the driver door already had the scratches to prove it.

We took those scratches out first, because film locks in whatever is underneath it. Then every painted panel got self healing paint protection film, so the next bump from a can lands on the film instead of the paint. Light swirls in the film relax back out with heat.

Then we ceramic coated all of that film, plus the front windshield, with our Level 1 Coat & Care System.

Everything that hits your car hits the front of it first.

Rocks off the truck ahead of you on the Beltway. Sand and salt in February. Bugs all summer. It all lands on the same few panels, and it lands at highway speed.

This Tesla Model Y got full front paint protection film: the whole hood, both fenders, the bumper, headlights and the mirrors. Brand new 2026 Mustang in V***r Blue, and the owner brought it to us before it picked up a single wash scratch.

Look at the gloss black pillars on any truck at a stoplight. They are scratched.

That trim is the softest surface on the whole vehicle. It marks up when a jacket sleeve drags past it, when somebody leans in to talk to you through the window or when you look at it wrong.

So on this F150 Raptor, the pillars got film.

It goes on wet, gets squeegeed out, and is trimmed by hand on the car so it wraps around every edge.

Go look above your door handle right now. Does it look like this?

Everybody has them. That little fan of scratches sitting right where your hand goes a few thousand times a year. Long nails catch the paint. Keys ride in the same hand as the door. A dog jumps up to say goodbye on the way out.

Most people assume that is permanent. It usually is not.

The wheels come off before they get coated.

On the car, you can reach the face of a wheel and not much else. Off the car, the faces, the inner barrels and the brake calipers all get the same attention. Those are the surfaces that take the brake dust and the road grime, and they are the reason wheels look old before the paint does.

Dark blue is a quiet color until the sun finds the metallic in it.

This BMW X5 xDrive50e came through for a Level 2 and our Coat & Care System. Swipe and watch what the light does across the panels: in the shade it reads almost black, and in the sun every flake in the paint lights up.

That contrast only shows on paint that has been corrected. Swirls scatter light in every direction, so the flake never gets a chance to do this.

White paint hides swirls. It also hides how good a finish can actually get.

This Mercedes Benz GLS came in for ceramic coating. On a color like this the payoff is less about reflection and more about behavior: dirt struggles to grab hold, water pulls itself off the panel, and washing stops being the chore it used to be.

We keep a hood in the shop so you can scratch it yourself.

Three sections on one panel. Matte film on top, bare paint in the middle, clear film on the bottom. Whatever happens, happens to all three at the same time.

What I am doing with that pad is a tunnel wash in fast forward. Spinning brushes carry the grit from the car ahead of you and drag it across your panels, and those fine swirl marks are the result. You already know what they look like. They are the haze you see in direct sun that never seems to wash off, because it is not dirt.

Then the heat gun comes out. Both film sections go back to the way they started. The bare paint in the middle keeps every mark, because paint has no way to heal itself.

Here is the part worth knowing. The heat gun is only standing in for the sun. The top layer of the film is built to flow back into place when it warms up, so the same thing happens on a warm day in your own driveway. No tool, no appointment. The panel heats up and the light scratches pull themselves back out while you are inside.

That is what self healing means, and it is why swirl marks and the fingernail scuffs around your door handles stop being permanent.
