There is so much to learn when it comes to EV charging. The rate your EV charges has to do with more than just the speed of the charging station. There is so much to learn when it comes to EVs and EV adoption. We are here to help break down the basics so you can get the most out of your electric vehicles!

Let's start with EV charging levels.

Level 1 EV charging is the slowest level of charging and typically comes with the vehicle. You can use a standard wall outlet for this Level of charging but it does take about 40-50 hours to fully charge an EV.

Level 2 is the most common level of EV charger. It is mostly found at public charging stations but can also be used for home charging with electrical upgrades (not all homes can support this). This is optimal for overnight charging.

Level 3 EV charging is the fastest, but hardest to find. Fixed Level 3 charging stations are few and far between and require more maintenance which usually means more downtime. These chargers are great for quick stops as they can charge an EV up to 80% in about 30 minutes to an hour. These are the most expensive for businesses to install as they require a lot of installation work.
