Vehicle Preparation for the Winter

*Check your tires: Ensure your tire tread is at least 2/32 inch deep, or switch to dedicated winter tires or all season tires marked with the M&S or three peak mountain snowflake symbol.

*Test the battery: Cold weather drains battery fast, so test your battery or carry a portable jump pack.

*Top off fluids: Fill your windshield washer reservoir with a winter- grade fluid rated for sub freezing temperatures (such as -30f) and check your antifreeze levels.

*Pack an emergency kit: Keep a small shovel, ice scraper, jumper cables, blankets, flashlight, first aid supplies, and traction aids like sand or kitty litter in your trunk.
