Derrick keeping it real in class today đź’Ş

Learn the skill… then go practice.
Your car. Your mom’s car. Your friend’s Toyota. Your neighbor’s Mazda. Do a few free details. Get the reps in.

Because the first time you talk to a paying customer, yeah… you’re gonna be nervous. We all are. Even Derrick still gets that feeling pulling up to a car.

But once that light hits the paint and you start correcting?
It turns into excitement.

The goal isn’t just learning how to polish.
It’s building confidence.
It’s stacking before & after photos.
It’s being able to say, “Look at this Cadillac I did.”

That’s how you go from student to professional.

If you want to actually learn paint correction the right way, come train with us at Detailing World NJ.

How long should a one-step take? What about a two-step?

This is one of the most common questions we get in our training classes.

At Detailing World NJ, we typically recommend:

• One-step correction: 2–4 hours
• Two-step correction: 6–8 hours

Of course, it depends on the condition of the paint and the size of the vehicle — but that’s a realistic working range.

Now we want to hear from you 👇
How long are you spending on your one-steps and two-steps?

Last week we asked: what does a “full detail” really include?

Engine bay? Seat removal? Steam cleaning? Extraction? Two-step paint correction?

The responses were wild — especially from shops charging $300–$400 while including everything.

Here’s the reality:
“Full detail” is a broad term. What one shop considers full could be completely different from another.

At Detailing World NJ, we believe in clarity and structure. A true full detail should include a complete interior refresh and proper exterior care — but beyond that, there should be tiers.

That’s why it’s important to build smart packages:
• A solid baseline full detail
• A higher-level option for deeper restoration

This way you serve every client properly — without undercharging or overpromising.

Define it. Structure it. Price it correctly.

We get this question all the time —

“How do I clean my wheels and tires without damaging them?”

With so many harsh acids and caustic cleaners floating around online, it’s easy to overdo it. If you actually care about your wheels, you don’t need anything aggressive.

Two of our go-to options:

Car Candy Burst – Dilute 1:1, foams up thick, and safely attacks brake dust and tire grime. Great in a foam cannon or pump sprayer.

P&S Brake Buster – Another fan favorite. Mix 4:1 or 1:1 depending on how heavy the buildup is. Safe, effective, and perfect for maintenance washes.

Both are designed to clean without compromising your wheels, tires, or finishes — especially if you’re washing weekly.

Available online or in-store at Detailing World NJ.

Salt season isn’t over yet 👀

As it starts warming up, those winter-beat cars need more than a basic wash. Car Candy Destroyer is our go-to decon shampoo for heavy salt, nasty buildup, truck washes, or when you’re stripping old protection to reset the paint.

Foam it on straight, let it work — but keep it out of direct sun and use in a cool environment. This stuff is strong.

Deep clean first. Protection after.

It’s cold. There’s snow on the ground. And you still want your car clean.

Rinseless washing with P&S Absolute is a solid option during the winter months when a traditional wash just isn’t realistic. With a simple setup — a bucket, clean towels, and the right dilution — you can safely clean your vehicle indoors without freezing temps or messy runoff.

When used properly, P&S Absolute is cost-effective, versatile, and paint-safe, making winter car care a lot more manageable.

When Derrick walks through a corrected panel with the group, it’s not just about the result — it’s about understanding why it looks the way it does and how to repeat it on the next vehicle.

Group training matters because detailing isn’t learned from a screen. It’s learned panel by panel.
