Shop Porter/Jr. Technician position available!
We are looking for a motivated, energetic individual, age 18 or older, to join our team as a Porter / Jr. Technician. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who has an interest in automotive maintenance and wants to learn and develop hands-on skills in the industry. Job Overview:
We are seeking a Shop Porter/ Technician Apprentice, preferably with some general automotive mechanic skills to join our team in Springtown, Tx. As a Shop Porter, you will be responsible for:
* Shop Maintenance: Cleaning/Mopping, Trash Collection, Supplies Replacement (Oil, Soaps, Mats, Papers, etc.), Shop Painting, Lot Mowing, etc.
* Vehicle Management: Check-In, Check-Out, Lot Management, Transmission/Parts Movements (inbound, cores, inter-building transport, etc.)Vehicle Moving, Hot Flushing Transmissions, Shop Opening/Closing, etc.
Anyone not interested in working hard all day, staying off your cell phone during working hours, learning and growing, getting raises and promotions, need not apply!!! We are hiring a Shop Porter/Technician Apprentice to free my techs from many of the simpler tasks, to train you to be a Jr. Technician, while you train your replacement Shop Porter/Technician Apprentice.
In a few months you will be removing and replacing transmissions, as well as doing many mechanical services under Shop Management supervision.
You will receive applicable paid training and 10 paid days off/year full-time, or pro-rated for part-time work - We are open to both!!!
This is a hands-on role that requires some mechanical knowledge and the willingness to get the job done quickly, and with quality.
Candidates will be supplied require work tools, but owning your own tools/box is a plus.
Additional Duties Include:
- Lift heavy parts up to 80 lbs.
- Lift and working overhead and in tight spaces
- Knowledge and use of power tools and hand tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components
- Maintain accurate records of all vehicle's keys, tracking forms, odometers, repairs, services, supplies and parts used, and more
- Keep all work areas swept, mopped, and tidy
- Ability to keep track of parts removed or used
Experience:
- Any knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, and mechanical operations is a plus
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools for repairs and maintenance tasks, a plus
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals, a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail is a plus
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
