Heavy oxidation, gelcoat failure, and overall very thin gelcoat, made sanding not an option.

She truly needs a full gelcoat restoration and respray but that what I’m the cards for now.
So I worked with what I had, then protected it with Gold ceramic coating, and the difference is NIGHT AND DAY. 🔥

Proper maintenance is going to be key to keeping this boat looking good and keeping that shine.

We be fly like a G6, like a G6 lol. I bet you won’t ever find a G6 this clean these days!

She’s officially ready for patrol boat duty! 😎🚤

This Baja is about as good as it’s going to get without sanding. The gelcoat is extremely thin in a lot of areas, so wet sanding just wasn’t worth the risk.

For this one, I went with:
✔️ Heavy cut compound on a rotary to remove as much oxidation and defects as safely possible.
✔️ Followed by a medium polish on a DA to refine the finish and eliminate rotary holograms.
✔️ Finished with Gold our 5 year ceramic coating to lock in the gloss and provide long lasting protection.

Sometimes the goal isn’t perfection, it’s getting the absolute best result while preserving what’s left of the gelcoat. I think this Baja turned out pretty damn good. 🔥

As it is frustrating with the horrible air quality and smoke right now. Let’s all take a moment and be thankful that’s all we have to deal with. People in Canada are losing MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of acres of Forrest and land due to these fires. Along with homes and as of now 4 deaths. I hope they get hammered with some rain and the fires are extinguished. Again be thankful it’s not our state on fire.

HEY THERE, RACE FANS! 🏁 The 32nd Annual St. Clair River Classic (or the locals call it "Boat Races" 😉) is back in St. Clair July 24th through the 26th! 😁🌊 Here is a glance at some of the action:
🚧 M-29 closes at 6pm on Wednesday, July 22nd for Race Village and event set up.
⚓️ Boats begin arriving as early as Wednesday, July 22nd.
🎸 Entertainment scheduled for Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
🏁 Races will take place Saturday & Sunday, race times are approximate and can vary slightly throughout the weekend.
🏆 Awards will be given out after the final race on Sunday in the St. Clair Riverview Plaza Courtyard!
💛 Please give the race teams a big warm welcome to our town; wishing them all the best luck, safety and a good time out on the St. Clair River!

I know I haven’t been posting on here as much lately but I am still working and detailing! This is about the time of the season where the social media aspect of things burns me out and I post less.
