This 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder is finished in Gentian Blue Metallic over Black leather and Alcantara with Silver stitching. Its 414-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-six drives through a six-speed manual with a limited-slip differential and Porsche Torque Vectoring.

One of Three, the Only Phaeton

The 1959 Chrysler Scimitar Town Car Phaeton is one of three concept cars Brooks Stevens designed for Olin Mathieson to show what aluminum could do in car construction. Reutter of Stuttgart built it on a Chrysler New Yorker chassis, with brushed, silver-anodized aluminum panels and contrasting black steel sections. Its divided roof can open over the chauffeur alone or over the whole car.

It debuted at the 1959 Geneva Motor Show and is the only Scimitar with a gold aluminum spear and matching gold wheel covers. Power comes from a 350-horsepower 413 Golden Lion V8 with a pushbutton TorqueFlite automatic.

French ingenuity meets Italian horsepower. 🇫🇷🇮🇹

With its futuristic Robert Opron styling, hydropneumatic suspension, and Maserati V6, the Citroën SM was unlike anything else on the road. Finished in Brun Scarabée over Tabac leather, this 1973 example benefits from an extensive refurbishment by SM World, including a rebuilt 3.0-liter V6 and overhauled hydraulic systems.

Throwback Thursday: 1939 Lagonda V12 Drophead

After Rolls-Royce took over Bentley Motors Ltd, Walter Owen Bentley joined Lagonda. There, he designed a 60-degree, overhead-cam V12 that is widely considered his finest work. Only 190 were built before the war ended production. This particular car, chassis 14028, was the 18th short-chassis car and carries factory coachwork designed by Frank Feeley.

It’s finished in indigo blue over biscuit leather, with fully enclosed side-mount spares and Lucas King of the Road lamps, and it was shown at Amelia Island in 2010.

Dean Moon’s First 150 MPH

The “Jazzy” Nelson Special is a 1927 Model T Lakester that brothers Jim and Paul Nelson started building in Culver City in 1946. It set a 141.06-mph B Roadster record at the dry lakes, which earned it the No. 1 plate for 1948 and ‘49. It also won class prizes at the first two Oakland Roadster Shows.

Lee Titus of Lee’s Speed Shop ran it at 151 mph at Bonneville in 1951. Dean Moon then took it to 152, his first time over 150 at Bonneville. In 1952 it made the cover of Hop Up magazine.

This 1971 Jaguar XKE Coupe was restored over nearly ten years, with a reported 2,350 hours of work, and is finished in Signal Red over beige leather. Its numbers-matching 4.2-liter six is confirmed by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. Sir Peter Ustinov’s 540 K

This Mercedes-Benz 540 K is a third-series car with factory Sindelfingen Cabriolet A coachwork. It was ordered new through London, and in 1951 it was bought by actor Sir Peter Ustinov. Later on it was acquired by Road & Track publisher John R. Bond. After a concours-quality restoration, it took 3rd in class at Pebble Beach in 1983. Finished in claret over tan, this 540 K is ideal for the discerning collector.

A seldom-seen motorcycle, this 1954 Maserati Tipo 160/T4 is powered by its 58cc four-stroke single, breathing through a Dell’Orto carburetor and a chrome Silentium exhaust. The restored exampled touts matching numbers and a handsome color scheme.
