NOAA put this out on September 10 and the number that stopped me was 75. Three chances in four that October through December turns into the strongest El Nino on record going back to 1950. Nino 3.4 was plus 1.8 in August and still climbing.
A strong El Nino usually tilts the northern Rockies dry. Usually. 𝗖𝗣𝗖 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗱, 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗗𝗢, and in their own words it may dampen the typical impacts. Same discussion puts 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆.
1982-83, 1997-98, 2015-16. All three were supposed to do the same thing and all three did something different.
