We recently had a Jeep brought in because it would dart side to side when hitting potholes. The customer had just purchased the vehicle and was already facing numerous problems.

Upon inspection, we discovered that one of the front struts had leaked fluid, which was causing the handling issue. It appeared that the previous seller had sprayed off the fluid to hide the concern.

Remember, when buying a new car, always bring it to a trusted repair facility for a proper inspection. This will help ensure you’re not purchasing a vehicle with more problems than the one you just had!

Today, we worked on an Enclave where the customer reported that the vehicle occasionally won’t start, requiring a 15-minute wait before it will start again.

We ran the vehicle through tests, attempting to duplicate the issue in both hot and cold conditions. After some effort, we were finally able to replicate the concern and confirmed that the starter is failing.

Today, a customer came in with a Nissan stating that the shifter wouldn’t release unless bypassed. During our diagnosis, we discovered that not only was the shifter malfunctioning, but the customer had also been driving without brake lights and had an ABS light on—both issues tied to the same concern.

We replaced a simple brake switch, resolving all of these problems. Just remember, sometimes concerns may seem minor, but they can be interconnected and more important than they appear!

Today, we received a Silverado with a lack of air conditioning. Upon arrival, we discovered there was no freon in the system. During our inspection, we noted a significant amount of dye indicating a leak from the compressor.

To prevent any misdiagnosis, we pressurized the A/C system and performed a spray test for verification. It turns out the A/C compressor itself isn’t leaking; the issue lies with the A/C line spraying at the compressor.

Recently, a customer came in to have their 2024 Wagoneer scanned for a check engine light. Unfortunately, simply running a quick scan isn’t enough anymore. This brand now requires a subscription just to check the codes, along with another subscription to clear them. After spending $100 on these subscriptions, you can finally access and reset the codes—ridiculous, right?

To avoid paying these subscription fees multiple times, bring your vehicle to a thorough, trusted repair shop. This situation also shows the importance of doing your homework when buying a new car to prevent facing these costly diagnostics down the line.

🚐 Stuck in Gear: Quick Solutions for Out-of-Town Repairs! 🚐

I was recently contacted by a customer who was out of town and experiencing shifting problems with their Grand Caravan, which was stuck in first gear and wouldn’t shift at all.

During the inspection and diagnosis, we determined that while everything was being commanded to shift, the transmission remained unresponsive. After taking a fluid sample, we found the fluid smelled burnt, and further evaluation revealed a significant amount of clutch material and large chunks of metal.

I advised the customer that a transmission replacement would likely be necessary, although we wouldn’t know the full extent until tear down. Given that the customer was out of state, we opted for a replacement as the most cost-effective and efficient solution to get them back on the road quickly.

After just three days, we received the new transmission, and repairs were completed the following day. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don't hesitate to reach out!
