Something we noticed this week 👀

A Safelite mobile unit was parked across the street from our shop this week, doing a windshield job. It got us thinking it's a good time to talk about something a lot of our customers don't realize until it's too late.

Safelite doesn't just replace glass — they're also the company many insurance carriers use to manage auto glass claims. That means when you call your insurance company to file a claim, you might get transferred to Safelite's call center even if you never asked for them.

Here's what we hear from customers again and again: they call to request KC Auto Glass & Recalibration, and later get a call or email from "their insurance company" saying Safelite can come out that same afternoon — and they don't realize they're being switched to a completely different shop until we call to check on a job that's suddenly been cancelled.

You always have the right to choose who repairs your vehicle. Your insurance company cannot require you to use a specific shop — that choice is yours, no matter who calls or emails you first.

If you're filing a claim, here's how to make sure you actually get us:
📞 Call us directly at (814) 489-3924 before or right after you file.
✅ Tell your insurer by name: "I want KC Auto Glass & Recalibration."
🚫 If someone calls offering faster service, ask who they're with — it may not be who you asked for.

We've been a family-owned shop in Sugar Grove for over 30 years, and we'd love to earn your business the honest way — not because you got steered here, but because you chose us.
