First short drive of a Morgan plus 4 that has been off the road since 2021. Still details to address but hopefully it will be ready to go home next week.

Some of the final touches. Alignment done . Vynil wrapped dash pad test fit succesful.

Hand shaping the alternator to have enough clearance for adjustment. After lowering the engine for the hood to close ,the alternator was resting on the steering column. Needed a shorter belt but hit the bracket before the belt would fit .

Today's quality parts saga. Tried to install new hood release cables in the Elan to discover new ones have much shorter threads than the originals. It's just time right?

It's been a bit. Been head down trying to finish our Lotus Elan project. It came to life the other day . It was a pretty easy start as the choke is not hooked up yet. So many details to finish but we are getting close to first drive.

MGA trans guts getting cleaned an new bearings. Case is off getting v***r honed.

The Lotus Elan project is putting up a good fight. The supposedly made from original mold windshield frame took a serious amount of modification to fit the car properly. Now trying to install the windshield is requiring more modification. Test fit the old windshield with old seal and it all looked very close to drop in ready. Multiple attempts at installing new windshield led to frustration. Lay new windshield over old to discover there is a 1/4 inch height difference. Also note a very different curvature profile. Then we measured the thickness of the gasket to find the new one is substantially thicker than the original. Now modifying the window opening enough to get the new seal and window to fit. Hand made cars are so much fun!
