Here's one you might not have thought about: your windshield is part of how your airbag works, and it matters most right as the deer get active at dusk. 🦌
When a passenger airbag deploys, it inflates up and off the windshield before it comes toward you. The glass is bonded in with a strong urethane adhesive, and that bond is part of the design. If a windshield is cracked through or installed with a weak bond, it can pop out or buckle differently instead of holding. Deer season, early sunsets, and dark rural roads around Tacoma make the odds of needing that windshield a little higher this time of year.
Two things worth knowing:
- A chip or crack sitting in the edge zone, where the glass bonds to the body, is worth taking seriously even if it looks small.
- If your windshield was replaced before, a correct, full bond matters just as much as clear glass.
Our certified techs come to you, so a proper install never costs you a day at the shop. We can help you with your insurance claim, and flexible payments with Afterpay are available.
