Who is going to be looking for the “Strawberry Moon” tonight?

Drop your pictures in the comments ⬇️. We want to see them!

Not only is tonight’s full moon the lowest hanging we’ve seen in nearly 20 years, but we also have Saharan dust overhead across Oklahoma.

That combination could make for a beautiful orange or reddish moon as it rises this evening. The dust scatters the shorter blue wavelengths of light, allowing more of the reds and oranges to reach your eyes.

For the best view, look toward the eastern horizon shortly after moonrise. If you can get away from city lights, even better.

If the clouds cooperate, this could be one of the prettiest moonrises of the summer. If you get a great photo, I’d love to see it in the comments!
