Proficient in both VFR and IFR conditions, with strong skills in emergency management, risk assessment, and decision-making. Adept at using flight management systems (FMS), weather radar, and Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) using ForeFlight to optimize flight safety and performance also demonstrating excellent communication with air traffic control (ATC) and crew, and excels in crew resource management (CRM) for smooth, efficient operations.

Spin recovery in a Cessna 172!

Spin training is one of the many tasks instructors learn to achieve the instructors certification.

Here’s a great example of a spin and its recovery.

The Four Steps of PARE
✈️ Power to Idle: Pull the throttle all the way back to idle. High power pushes the nose up and makes the spin harder to stop.
✈️ Ailerons Neutral: Neutralize the ailerons and make sure the wings are level. Using ailerons during a spin can make it worse or cause a spin in the opposite direction.
✈️ Rudder Full Opposite: Step on the rudder pedal fully against the direction of the spin. If the plane spins left, apply right rudder and hold it until the rotation stops.
✈️ Elevator Forward: Push the control yoke or stick forward quickly. This lowers the nose, breaks the wing stall, and lets the plane recover normal flight.

Needless to say, it’s a very fun training day!
