Good Day from somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean!!! This one will be on the short side but nevertheless, Thank You to everyone who came out to race Team Race #8!!!
In High School, Jill Slade turned on the win light with Aerin Rogers in the Runner Up spot!
In Jr. Street, Nathan Rienstra completes the point series with a Win, with Deric Otero collecting the Runner Up hardware!

As much as I would like to say it, I’m going to stick to my previous posts and wait until the points count is complete to announce the Series Champions (I’m pretty sure we know who you are but….).

*** Attention in The Pits***
Updated information for this weekend. Friday Test and Tune schedule is the same. Saturday, Team Race #8, Gates open between 3:00/4:00pm (early gate time is directed at those running Big Wheels). Track is hot at 6:00pm (always subject to change).
You will have 1 time run that will also be Run For The Money. Then continue on with eliminations. Buybacks are available after first round (all categories).
Justin Keller will be taking care of all the payouts including the RFTM (He is the Co-pilot for Khloe Darby in the really big Chevy Pickup Truck).
As always, I will not make any official announcement of final points until they are completed by our volunteers and or posted to the Tucson Dragway website.

The largest youth event of the year hosting the Arizona High School Pit Crew Challenge in the pits! Plus, you can check out the Don Sink RC Sprint Car Memorial Race at the Bullring, Highbank RC Raceway!
High School and Jr. Street categories will be racing for a Guaranteed $400.00 to Win thanks to Nate’s Italian Kitchen!!!

Reminder that you will keep all of your show up points (50 points for turning in your Tech Card) and your best 7 races will be your points total.

To our latest Jr. Street Licensees and High School racers, you are eligible to participate at these events!!!

Close out the Team Tucson Summit Series season with a Night race! Classes include Pro, Super Pro, Sportsman, Motorcycles, High-School, Junior Street, and JDRL junior dragsters. Come race or watch the action!

FRIDAY SCHEDULE
Gates open at 3:00pm
Track Hot 5:00pm-10:00pm
Tech Card $50.00

SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
Gates open – 4:00 PM
Track Hot – 6:00 PM

SPECTATOR PRICES:
Spectator – $20/day

Today we held the first “Learn to Race “ event at Tucson Dragway! We had a wide range of vehicles and even had an ice cream vendor come out!!
We licensed 4 Jr. Street Racers, 1 High School Racer and 1 for Sportsman in a very relaxed environment allowing for maximum information and time on track
Looking forward, we will work on ways to make this more efficient so that we can offer this event in the future and open it up to more people to attend!

Alright alright alright Team Race #7 is complete! (If you didn’t read that in the voice of Mathew McConaughey, start over)

Once again I had a busy day so I don’t have to many details but from the looks of things, the points battle will come down to the last race to decide final positions in both categories! Reminder that your best 7 races are calculated for the championship series. (You keep all of your show up points).

In High School Jill Slade picked up the Run For The Money early on running . 010 above.
In the Final it would be Nick George signing the check for the the second race in a row!

Jr. Street
Nathan still holds the points lead coming in to Race #7 and helped his cause by earning the first round by run. Parker Schroeder and the gang made their way down from Phoenix. Though I didn’t see it, I heard it, there were some pretty good reaction times being posted!
Final Round
It would be the points leader Nathan Rienstra against Deric Otero in the final. Putting their name in the check would be our newest TV star, Deric Otero! This puts him on the list with 2 wins this season and is putting the squeeze on the points leader!

Congratulations to everyone who came out and battled the weather conditions.

Team Race #8 is May 30th, this race in “tentatively” scheduled to be a night race. I will keep you up to speed on that.
