I went to get some rock this afternoon with one of my dump trailers, and sure as hell, there’s a guy with what looks like a 14-foot, single-axle trailer he bought from Lowe’s. I’m thinking it’s probably a 2,500-pound axle, so I figure I must’ve misheard him when he tells the loader, “Four tons.”

The loader even asked, “You sure? That’s 8,000 pounds.”
“Yep.”

And this is why I can’t have nice things. 😅

$400 for new batteries. That’s part of the cost of doing business.

I had my lift out on a rental when the customer called to say it was moving really slowly, like the batteries were dying—even though it had been plugged in. Sometimes batteries seem fine right up until they suddenly stop holding a charge. In this case, two of them were shot, and the cold weather may have been the final straw.

The customer had the lift all day, but I know how frustrating it is to spend that time fighting equipment that isn’t working right. I refunded him for the hassle and moved on. Hopefully, he’ll rent from us again, and I’ll have the chance to earn his business back.
