Kirk is getting this rig’s steering back under control with a steering box replacement.

The steering box transfers the movement of the steering wheel to the wheels, giving the driver control over the vehicle’s direction. Over time, internal gears and seals can wear out—especially under heavy use or the added stress of larger tires—causing loose steering, fluid leaks, wandering, or delayed response.

A new steering box restores tighter, more precise handling and gives the driver greater confidence for the next mountain climb.

We’re highlighting this rare, military-inspired Hummer that our tech, Mike Saborese, is working on. From its heavy-duty body and enclosed rear utility compartment to the massive off-road tires, high ground clearance, snorkel intake, and unmistakable military stance, this machine was built to handle terrain that would stop an ordinary vehicle in its tracks.
