Good morning
This is the Monday morning update of the state of the union
Well after weeks of talking we can finally say its over and man what a weekend!
Who would have ever thought that this would turn out like it did. I can’t say enough about all the racers that came to support this event and hung in all weekend, thank you so much ! Now let’s get into what happened.
Friday night it started off with our Friday nite fights. Who would ever have expected 90 cars with a $6000 dollar purse?
6 rounds later it was at 3 cars where it was a Quit and Split to end the night. But then on the other side with 19 entry’s in the Junior’s fight when it was all said and done it was all Cooper Cauthen in his junior that would add $1,450 more to his piggy bank!
Now with all that going on it was time for the race of Champions where our 4 class champions faced off in a battle of the families . It was Shane Maddox our Friday nite champion flexing his muscles trying to take down his father in law Paul Mosley the 2026 top eliminator champion but it was Paul showing he ain’t done yet . Then it was Morgan Snipes our modified champ trying to show sportsman champ her Dad Dusty that she isn’t a kid anymore. But in the final when it was all over it was Paul Mosley holding the championship cup!
Now if that wasn’t enough it’s onto Saturday:
With waking up to a rainy morning and then finding out that we have over 320 entries on the property it was time to get it on!
After getting the track dried up it was onto the race. But with the huge car count trying to get as many rounds in as possible with the much cooler evening weather upon us it became a safety factor that forced me to make a difficult decision before somebody got hurt. So by calling all remaining drivers to the staging lanes it was time for me to have my own State Of The Union! With a show of hands it was an overwhelming majority that wanted to finish up Sunday so now its time for a little bit of fun with food some live music from the Caution Blind Driver band and a practice tree competition to end the night.
This now brings us to Sunday:
After 6 rounds in the Junior category with a $3,250 payday thanks to Mike Heatherly, Marie Coleman Varner in honor of her son Jason and Danny Sinclair and his group it would be Brayden Crayton with a 0.1 reaction time and 2 over to Kamren Nunney 0.6 and 1 over that would send him home with a little more for his college fund and a Golden Ticket!
In Sportsman with a $3000 dollar payday and the Golden Ticket it was Andrew Davis that would get it done with a 0.2 reaction time and 1 over witch would make Rob Armstrong’ 0.7 reaction time force him to be 2 under at the stripe .
In Modified again with a $4500 dollar payday and a Golden Ticket it was Jesse Edens that would prevail over our Sportsman winner Andrew Davis. It was a red light that would give Jesse the cash but Jesse’s .009 and to be dead 8 he showed he was ready for what ever was coming.
On to Top Eliminator it took 8 rounds of this battle to find out who the the real champ is and once again it would show that Paul Mosley bought the biggest stick to the fight showing who the real champ is. Paul would once again would park his dragster on the dance floor holding the $10,0000.00 dollar check along with the Race Of Champions cup and the golden ticket for a year’s free entry, WOW ! But not without showing he wasn’t playing his .006 reaction and to be dead 3 to Will Dotson’s .01 and dead 6 run would end the day.
Now with all that being said there’s a lot of people to thank for making this event a great success.
