Attention everyone! May I please have a moment of your time? It is very important that you read this entire message in its entirety. Unfortunately, it has gotten to the point where I must reiterate these messages. The fate of our event is in jeopardy again. When I took over running Charleston Cars & Coffee a number of years ago, we were just a small Saturday morning get-together. Since then, though, our event has grown exponentially. With that comes many more challenges. Unfortunately, we have gotten to a point where we need to make changes, or else our event could be over. Number one is, and I can’t stress this enough, please respect the property and management team. That means, but is not limited to, driving the speed limit while entering, during, and leaving our event. No burnouts or launches. No revving of engines. (Trust me, I know everyone loves to show off how cool your vehicle sounds, but our event is not the place for it. We need to respect everyone.) Please clean up after yourselves and don’t leave anything behind when you leave. (You wouldn’t want someone to leave trash at your home, so please respect the property and clean up.) Also, due to the growth our event has had, come more vehicles and spectators, of course, and inevitably less places for them to park. But we cannot have anyone who is attending or spectating our event parking in front of any stores at Towne Centre. Those spots need to be free and available for customers and employees of those stores. We ask that everyone please utilize the large parking lots (the main C&C lot for show cars and the adjacent lot right next to it for spectators). This way, we are not disrupting the other businesses and customers. (Remember, not everyone who comes to Towne Centre is there for our event; we need to respect that.) Lastly, and this is extremely important. We can’t have anyone standing at any of the exits or out on 17 filming, photographing, or egging/encouraging others to drive recklessly or act stupid. This is extremely dangerous for not only our guests but bystanders and other motorists as well. I can’t stress this enough. All of this behavior has to stop immediately, or we will be forced to take drastic measures to ensure the safety of all and prevent anything worse from happening. If anyone is observed violating any of these rules, you will be instructed to stop, and if you choose not to comply, you will be permanently banned from attending any of our events. We are also in close touch with Mount Pleasant PD and will not hesitate to ask for their assistance when needed. I know this has been a long message, but it is crucial that everyone understands what needs to happen. I think I can speak for all that no one wants to see Charleston Cars and Coffee end. It has become an incredible event bringing together friends and family to relax and enjoy what we all love. But I need everyone’s help in assuring that we can continue. Please don’t let this event die. I want to thank you all for taking the time to read this message, and I hope to see you at our events for many more years to come. 🙏🏻❤️
