Since some of our followers weren’t quite sure where the 9 inches of suspension travel was, we brought out the big red pointy finger today to clear things up! 👉

After a long, busy weekend in the shop, I finally slowed things down for a bit.

Traded the welder for the stove and put together a pot of red beans and rice with ham and andouille sausage. Let it go low and slow—same way I like to build things. No rush, just doing it right.

Good food, good reset… back at it tomorrow.

Spent part of the weekend on a balcony railing repair.

The vertical posts had completely rotted out at the concrete, and a snowplow had taken out a section of the second-floor panel—so this one needed some real attention.

Rather than a full tear-out, I fabricated stainless steel repair brackets to rebuild the post bases and restore structural integrity. Then cut, fit, and welded in a new section to replace the damaged panel.

Everything tied back together, solid, safe, and built to last.

Eye Spy Designs — practical solutions, built right the first time.

First RAT bike I ever built… and yeah, we got a little imaginative with it.

Started with a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine and transmission, and then just let the scrapyard imagination take over —
vintage cruiser vibes, a horse saddle for a seat, Ford tractor fenders out back, wooden water ski’s for the footboard, and postal digger irons making up that front fender… just to name a few of the highlights.

No rules. No blueprint. Just building what made sense in my head at the time.

Still sticking to the same mantra today —
the more you look… the more you see. 👀🔥
