We are sad to say Good Bye to one of our long term employees, Jake Weeks who had been with Mackin’s for 17 years. Jake made the decision to move into Law Enforcement with the City of Vancouver. His story started way back in the 1960’s when his Grandfather, Willard “Sonny” Weeks worked for our founder, Bob Mackin as Bob’s Body Shop Foreman. Sonny brought his son Willard “Woody” Weeks in to work with him as a detailer in the shop. After a couple of years in that position, Woody decided to train to become a body technician. During that time, he brought his son Willard “Jake “ Weeks into the business. Woody retired after 40 years with Mackin’s and Jake became the lead painter at our Salmon Creek location.
With Jake leaving Mackin’s Auto Body, this is the 1st time since the 60’s we don’t have a part of his family working for Mackins. We will miss him but wish all the best for Jake in his new career.
