Long before the permit, your teen was watching you drive.
How close you follow. Whether you stop fully or roll through. What you do with your phone at a red light. Kids absorb those habits quietly, and plenty of them show up later in their own driving without anyone noticing where they came from.
That's useful to know right now, while your teen is in the passenger seat watching. A few things carry a lot of weight:
→ Narrate your own decisions once in a while. "I'm leaving extra room because that truck keeps braking."
→ Put your phone in the console or glovebox before you start the car, and let them see you do it.
→ When you make a mistake, say so. It shows that good drivers notice and adjust.
You don't have to drive perfectly. They just need to see what careful looks like.
