Since her arrival in October of 2025, Chief (61’ Garlington) has undergone an extensive transformation at the Bayliss Boatyard. After the yard opened 20 years ago, re-powers, re-fits and full paint jobs have become the norm. We have the teams to execute these large projects and Chief is a great example of their work.
Chief has completed her full repaint, as well as an engine room makeover, repower and more. As for up-fits, her traditional black windshield was converted to white in order to deal with the heat of Costa Rica. Additionally, the team over at Everett Nautical handled her custom name application and faux teak work on the toe rail, helm pod, and half round.
In the engine room, Chief now has a freshly rebuilt and repainted MAN V12’s at 1360 HP each, along with a pair of Northern Lights 20 KW’s. Other additions include new air conditioning and pumps, battery system, B*W hinged sea chest screens, new shafts, new risers, and more. Also, can’t forget the new sonar that was installed.
With just a few details remaining, Chief hits the water this week!
