Good news and a catch for equipment buyers this fall.
Used heavy equipment prices have dropped five months in a row. Used excavators are listed about 4% lower than a year ago, and used dozer prices fell 3% in September alone.*
The catch: fewer machines are for sale. Heavy equipment listings are down nearly 13% from last year, and wheel loader listings are down 16%.
With prices softer and fewer machines out there, the good late-model, low-hour units won’t last long. If an excavator, dozer, loader or skid steer is on your list for this season, now’s a good time to start looking. Plus take advantage of the Section 179 tax credit.
