Today, a generous donor stopped by the Club to make summer more fun for five kids. His donation will offer scholarships for swimming fees so they can go to the pool for free!

This summer the Club will offer more than 250 field trips throughout the community and in the state. You can help make these experiences possible by investing in our summer program.

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER: Officers Nick Stetzer and Ben Price brought some fluffy comfort to the Club! Timber and Birdie, certified therapy dogs, provide a calming presence while also helping Wausau Police Resource Officers build positive relationships with students. Club Members had the opportunity to interact with Timber and Birdie, learn about the important role therapy dogs play in our community, and enjoy plenty of tail wags and puppy love along the way!

CAREER TOUR: At Kykomi's, Club Members had the chance to tour a Japanese style vending and claw machine arcade, and see how a family-owned downtown business operates. They met owner See, who shared her journey from an idea in Japan that led her and her husband running their own business. She spoke about entrepreneurship, perseverance, and taking risks to chase a dream.

Along with learning about the finer details of owning and managing a small business, Members played games and won prizes. Three lucky winners even scored gift cards!

BATTLEBOTS! It was a great day for a little competition as Club Members used the new Gaga Ball pit to find out whose bot could outlast them all! After putting some time into thinking outside the box and building their robotic battle machines with balloons, shields, and pointy things, they faced each other in the ring - whoever popped the other's balloon first won the round. Even Club Members who didn't build a bot got in on the fun, cheering on their favorite team!

WHAT A GOUDA DAY: Girls with a Purpose had an unforgettable day at Marieke Gouda in Thorp!

After a picnic and a little frog-catching time in Edgar, they visited this incredible woman-owned business, learned about Marieke's journey to become an elite Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, asked thoughtful questions, bonded with the cows and calves, and still had time for the jumping pillow, tricycle races, and ice cream!

CAREER TOUR: Roots, blooms, and career goals! Club Members visited Monk Botanical Gardens for a Career Tour with Horticulture Manager Sebastian, who discussed his career journey and day-to-day role, from managing diverse plant collections to ensuring each plant perfectly fits its garden's theme. Members got the chance to explore and ask questions about nine unique gardens and the beautiful landscapes throughout the property. Hands-on experiences like this are how futures grow!

STEM WORKSHOP FUN: Club Members learned and played at Northcentral Technical College's STEM Center Day! After a campus tour and some time playing basketball and volleyball, Members dove into a Wood Species Identification Workshop where they learned how to identify different wood species by pore size, color, grain, and texture. The highlight was a detective-style Jenga game where players had to identify each wood species before making their move. Thank you to NTC for such a fun and hands-on experience!

HOME RUN: Thank you to We Energies and the Milwaukee Brewers for treating our teen Club Members to a fun day at the ballpark! Last week they headed to Milwaukee to cheer on the Brewers against the Cleveland Guardians, complete with t-shirts and hot dogs. Thank you for giving Members a day they won't forget!
