Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001 and honor the people that showed extraordinary courage that day.

We also remember the first responders, recovery workers, survivors, and others who became sick or lost their lives in the years that followed as a result of their exposure to the toxic conditions at Ground Zero. The loss from September 11th did not end when that day was over.

As a former volunteer firefighter, this day has always held a special meaning for me. Years ago, I participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, attempting to climb 72 floors in honor of FDNY Firefighter John J. Tipping II (Ladder 4 Engine 54), who lost his life at 9:59am when the South Tower collapsed as he was evacuating people from an elevator.

Twenty-five years later, we remember those who lost their lives that morning, those we have lost in the years since, their sacrifices, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

From all of us at Canal Used Cars, we will never forget.

On this date, 250 years ago, the Declaration of Independence marked the beginning of the United States of America, setting our country on a new path as an independent nation.

From all of us at Canal Used Cars, thank you to the generations who have served, sacrificed, and helped build the communities we call home.

We wish everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

Happy Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙
