Electrical problems can be some of the most frustrating issues to diagnose on a motorcycle.

In today's video I walk through the exact charging system tests I use in the shop on a Honda VT1100.

Instead of replacing parts and hoping for the best, we'll systematically test the battery, stator, regulator/rectifier, and charging output until we find the real problem. Then we tear the bike apart and verify the diagnosis.

If your motorcycle isn't charging, this process should point you in the right direction.

A customer dropped off this Suzuki LT-Z400 because something just didn't feel right.

It had an odd power delivery... but what grabbed my attention immediately was the top-end engine noise.

Instead of guessing, we started diagnosing.

Valve lash.
Cam timing.
Inspection.

Sometimes the noise tells you exactly where to look.

The result surprised me.

Idle mixture screw adjustment is one of the most misunderstood parts of carburetor tuning.
