Ever wonder why we spray Fluid Film instead of the rubberized stuff? Rubberized undercoating dries into a hard shell, and a hard shell cracks. One stone chip or one cold snap and there is a gap you cannot see, and salt water gets in behind it and sits against the frame all winter. Fluid Film never dries. It stays soft, keeps creeping into the seams and overlaps where rust actually starts, and there is nothing to crack and nothing to trap water. We spray it up through the frame rails, the rockers and every seam the salt finds. The trucks will be out before you know it, so now is the time. Rubberized undercoating looks tough when it goes on, but it dries into a hard shell. Once that shell cracks or chips, salt water gets underneath and sits right against bare metal, which is exactly where rust starts.

Fluid Film works the opposite way. It’s lanolin based, it never dries, and it keeps creeping into the seams, frame rails and overlaps a hard coating can’t reach. Nothing to crack, nothing to trap water.

Rochester salt does not wait for winter to start doing damage. By the time you can see rust on a rocker or a brake line, it has been working on the underside of the car for a couple of seasons already.

Fluid Film creeps into the seams, the frame rails and the underbody and keeps rust from taking hold. We buy it by the drum and we are booking undercoating now, before the trucks start salting.
